WEDDING PHOTOGRAPHY
@ Mairie du 10ème

A small, intimate wedding at the elegant town hall of Paris’s 10th arrondissement. Working with low ambient light (no flash), I used almost exclusively a 50mm prime lens. Knowing, from experience, how crowded such venues can get (with numerous wedding parties sharing the reception areas), I was pleased to be able to shoot without interruption on the main stairwell.

PARIS PHOTO SHOOT: COUPLE & GROUP (POST-WEDDING)
@ Canal Saint-Martin

This post-wedding photography session was the final part of a day of wedding celebration coverage. Having both lived in Paris for several years, these newlyweds chose the Canal Saint-Martin area as a closing location to add something more “local” to their wedding catalogue. The shoot, which brought along their close friends and witnesses, began at the town hall of the 10th arrondissement (Mairie du 10ème), and (passing by a beautifully typical parisien flower shop) headed south along the water until arriving at a sunbathed cafe terrace.

PARIS PHOTO SHOOT: COUPLE (PRE-WEDDING)
@ Paris Métro Line 9

These final images from a pre-wedding photo shoot were taken on line 9 of the Paris Métro, whilst traveling from Trocadero (where the day commenced) to the town hall (la Mairie) of the 10th arrondissement. Traveling on the Paris underground network being far from a jovial experience, shooting here is not something I generally suggest, but these quick photographs made good use of time, and a novel addition to a “Paris wedding” catalogue.

Documentary Photography for this international annual environmental procession / demonstration, which in Paris sees 10,000’s of citizens take to streets. The passion for the cause was not only felt through the overwhelming turnout, but through the 100’s of individually designed placards which accompanied the crowds.

Image crops focusing on some of the varied posters and signs displayed by protestors during the demonstration. Nice to see the effort and creativity that went into some of these, the vast majority of which were handmade designs.
