@ D.A.S.E.S, Paris
I was hired by the ESN, a non-profit organisation supported by the European Union Programme for Employment and Social Innovation, to document an international workgroup meeting in collaboration with VILLE DE PARIS.
The assigned event space - a very small lecture room - being poorly lit and visually inappropriate, the client requested I focus on closeups and take shots which showed the occasion but not the room. Not an easy task, especially with very limited shooting options, none of which offering any opportunity to distance myself from the subjects and “frame” guests with a narrow depth of field (as would have been appropriate). However, as a professional photographer, such tasks requiring “working with what you’ve got”, offer an element of challenge which is essential for keeping you on your toes.
