Event photography for the cryptocurrency platform Tezos, whose annual achievement celebration took place at Salle Belvédère, one of the 4 main reception spaces of the Bibliothèque François Mitterrand, in Paris’s 13th arrondissement. The attending parties, largely composed of coders and developers, being rather camera shy (well at least compared to the marketing and sales teams that usually form the bulk of the networking attendees I photograph), I’d been instructed to concentrate on documenting the occasion through candid photography.

The event hall was unevenly lit (worse than “poorly but evenly” lit as it means more lighting corrections are generally required in post-production), largely due to intense pools of light caused by the low ceiling (had to constantly modify the flash output to accommodate the difficulty in bouncing); however, the location did have the fantastic plus of offering two fantastic views of the Seine river (and the imposing towers of the library itself) from a very unique perspective. To give the final catalogue a bit of context, I made sure to get a decent handheld shot of each side of the event space (using the excellent Sigma 50mm 1.4 Art Lens).
