Conference photography the former BBC World News debate series, DOHA DEBATES, that was relaunched in 2018 under a new online format. The event took place at the Paris Peace Forum 2019, hosted at La Grande halle de La Villette.
Being the exclusive photographer at a live-streamed event, video documentary was of paramount importance. My shooting was therefore restricted to the back rows of the the the audience, which meant I wasn’t ever able to get closer than around 30 meters from the speakers (not ideal for photographing a panel discussion effectively, but my job is all about adapting to whatever situations are thrown at me!). Fortunately, thanks to their large production team, the quality of the minimalist scenography and background projections really were second-to-non; with regularly changing visuals reflecting every change in the conversation, I was able to get a good variety of shots.
A great team to have worked with, with whom I’d look forward to partnering again in the future.
