Lisbon is arguably the most "likeable" city I've ever visited. A bizarre mix of windy, narrow, uphill streets and open, perfectly flat plazas, exploring by foot is more of less essential, and it's precisely that that makes you take the time to appreciate every part of the city. Even without venturing into the suburbs, the difference in districts is remarkable, as is the way that, despite their contrasts, they blend together seamlessly.
