As a lifestyle photographer in Paris, my main focus is capturing the emotion of the moment which is born from the chemistry between the amazing people I’m photographing and their interaction with their chosen surroundings. Adapting my approach and direction to suit each particular client, I balance the ratio of candid images to lifestyle portraits according to the feel and rhythm of each photo session and, of course, your personal preferences.

FAQs ABOUT YOUR PARIS PHOTO SHOOT

Q) How long does a Paris Photo Shoot last?
Whilst I’m happy to accommodate any preferences for the duration of your lifestyle shoot, as standard, I propose sessions of 1 - 2 hours. In my experience, this allows enough time for clients to get confident in front of the camera and to explore their chosen location comfortably with 100% energy and enthusiasm; longer shoots can be surprisingly tiring, especially for clients that are new to photo sessions or families with young children, and tired faces are the first thing that come across in photos and the last thing that you’d want to see. It’s all about showing you at your absolute best.

Q) Which outdoor locations do you cover?
On this website, I’ve provided a list outlining popular photography areas and my advice on how best to explore them. Remember however, that we can shoot at any location in or around Paris; the choice is entirely yours.

Q) How many Paris locations are included per shoot?
Whilst I am happy to cover multiple locations in one shoot, both for your enjoyment of the experience and for the benefit of the final photographs you will receive, I always strongly recommend concentrating on a single area per shoot which can be explored easily on foot. The benefits of working like this are numerous:

Q) We’d like engagement photographs at different locations with different clothing - can you accommodate?
I would strongly recommend you consider booking multiple shoots over different days, which will mean:

1. we’ll be able to cover more than one location or area
   (without losing time in transport)

2. different clothing and looks can be adopted for each shoot
   (which really helps add variety to the final images)

3. you will be fresh and at 100% energy for each shoot
   (being a “model” can be surprisingly tiring after more than an hour, and there is nothing worse than when fatigue starts to show on otherwise beautiful faces)

4. you’ll get even better value for money
   (the more services that are booked the better price I can propose per shoot).

Q) We'd like to shoot at a private location - is this possible?
Absolutely - I shoot wherever my clients desire. I’ll just need an address and also a description of the location so that I can bring the most appropriate equipment.

Q) I’d like some photographs to document my family’s being together in Paris, but we don’t have time for a dedicated shoot - what can you propose?
I could propose a Trailing Shoot: appreciating that certain vacationers / holidaymakers are on very tight schedules and may not have time for a fully-directed photo shoot, I offer the option for clients to hire me to follow them around unobtrusively, taking candid photos of them as they explore Paris, at their own rhythm and following their own route and itinerary. With a Trailing Shoot, clients can focus 100% on enjoying Paris, without having to think about posing or being directed, whilst being assured they'll end up with beautiful photographs that document their time in the City of Light.

Q) We’d like an engagement shoot, but we’d also like some individual portraits as well - is this possible?
Yes of course, that’s a great idea. You are also welcome to communicate beforehand which split of which type of photo you prefer, so that I can orient both my direction and image selection on that, e.g. "25% portrait, 75% lifestyle”. Hiring any creative professional is an investment, so take full advantage of my time and expertise.

Q) We've never done a Photo Session before - we're nervous!
Around ½ of my new clients are newbies, so don’t worry at all! Throughout the shoot I’ll offer as much (or as little) direction as you desire, so no matter your experience in front of the camera, I can help every step of the way.

Q) We've very young children - can you handle them? :)
I've worked with families with kids of all ages, so no problem there :)

Q) It's my first time in Paris; I'm worried about finding my way around.
Following your booking, you will receive an email containing pre-shoot tips adapted to the specific service and location you’ve reserved. In any case, I'll always be available to offer help and advice, whenever you need it. Depending on its location, if you’d prefer, I can also offer to meet you directly at your hotel or place of stay.

Q) How do we stay in touch and communicate on the day?
I’ll always be reachable by email, phone, text message and (recommended) whatsapp.

Q) How do I book?
Once all shoot preferences (location, date etc) have been established and you’re completely happy with a proposal, you’ll receive an invoice containing my payment details. Once I’ve received your reservation fee, the booking's made and we can start preparing for the big day :)

Q) What if it rains?
In the case that weather prevented shooting (e.g. heavy rain), should an alternative date not be possible, the booking fee will of course be refunded. However, if it’s just a case of an overcast sky or very light rain, where the shoot would still be possible, we would go ahead.

I want clients to have both the best experience and the best photographs possible. If the forecast proves to be better the day before or the day after the date you’ve booked, provided that I am still available, I am happy to switch days.

Regarding the specific weather on the day, it’s really not worth worrying about, as each type of sky can offer its own unique advantages for people photography:

Q) When will I receive my images?
The standard turnaround time (TAT) I will propose will depend on the number of desired images and my availability following our photography session, but generally you’ll receive your images extremely quickly. Should you require your images within a specific time frame, simply communicate this when making your enquiry.

Q) Can I get both black-and-white and colour versions of my photographs?
For Lifestyle assignments I edit and submit both a black-and-white and colour version of every photograph. Note that my black-and-white versions are true edits (i.e. not a mere filter, as happens so often in this type of photography).

As standard, my surprise proposal documentary service is combined with a couple lifestyle shoot. That way you’ll have images not only of you asking for your partner’s hand, but, so very importantly, of your time spent together right after.

Lifestyle shoots are all about shared moments and interactions. It’s no surprise therefore that some of the best and most emotive imagery of this genre comes from family photography and group photo sessions.

A group photo shoot is far from exclusive to families and friends getting destination photographs to remember their European vacation together; it can also mark a special personal occasion such as a post-wedding celebration or a bachelorette / hen party.
